ABOUT CHRISTER
Christer Lundem is an artist, designer, photographer, and writer with a background in fine art, visual communication, and graphic design. His creative career began early; in 1993, he co-founded the acclaimed design and architecture studio Griff Kommunikasjon. He also founded and published several publications, including the free newspaper Melk & Media and the lifestyle magazine Carburetti, working with prominent clients such as Porsche Norway.
Although his ambition to become a professional artist was put aside in 1992 when a design commission led him to establish his own company, the desire to paint never disappeared. For the next three decades, his creative life took many forms; spanning design, theatre, photography, journalism, and motorsport.
In 2024, after 32 years away from the canvas, Lundem picked up his brushes again to create his first series, Toner. Inspired by music, particularly jazz, the works explore the relationship between rhythm, colour, and emotion.
Following his first solo exhibition, Lundem realised that painting was more than a return to an old passion; it was a part of him he was never meant to leave behind. Art was not a new beginning. It was simply coming home.
